Frequently Asked Questions

About distance learning

Is an online MBA from a UGC-DEB approved university equal to a regular MBA?

Yes. Under UGC notification dated 4 September 2020 (and subsequent UGC-DEB regulations), degrees granted through Online and Open & Distance Learning (ODL) modes by recognised universities are treated at par with corresponding regular-mode degrees for all purposes — including employment, higher studies, and government job eligibility.

Will employers and government recruiters accept my online MBA?

If the programme appears on the current UGC-DEB recognised list and the university itself is UGC/AICTE recognised, the degree is valid for both private and public-sector recruitment, NET/SET eligibility, and PhD admission. Always verify the specific programme on the UGC-DEB portal before enrolling.

Do I need to attend physical classes?

Online programmes are fully remote — recorded lectures, live webinars, e-library access, and proctored online exams. Distance (ODL) programmes may include short contact sessions at study centres. Both modes are designed for working professionals.

Can I appear for civil services and bank exams with an online MBA / BBA?

Yes. UPSC, SSC, IBPS and state PSCs accept UGC-DEB recognised online and distance degrees on par with regular degrees. The qualification simply needs to be from a recognised university and on the approved programme list at the time of admission.

Admissions & fees

What documents do I need to apply?

10th and 12th marksheets, graduation marksheets (for PG programmes), a government photo ID (Aadhaar / Passport / Driving Licence), a recent passport-size photo, and your work-experience certificate if you are claiming any. We help you upload everything in one session at the admissions desk.

How much does an Online MBA cost?

Total programme fees range from ₹85,000 to ₹3,50,000 depending on the university and specialisation. EduConnect publishes the full fee structure — including registration, semester, exam and convocation fees — on every programme page before you fill any form. There are no hidden charges and no agent commissions added on top.

Do you offer EMI or instalments?

Yes. Every partner university supports semester-wise payments by default. For most programmes you can also opt for monthly EMI via no-cost credit-card schemes or partner NBFCs (Eduvanz, Propelld, Avanse). Our counsellors walk you through the option with the lowest total cost for your situation.

Are there scholarships?

Yes — merit, defence-personnel, divyangjan, and women-in-management scholarships are available at most partner universities, typically 5–25% of fees. Eligibility depends on your academic record and category certificates. Mention scholarship interest when you submit your inquiry.

When are admissions open?

Most universities run two intakes per year — January and July — with rolling admissions in between. Apply at least 30 days before your preferred batch start date to comfortably complete documentation and any university-side eligibility checks.

Eligibility

Who can apply for an Online BBA?

Anyone who has passed Class 12 (any stream) from a recognised board with at least 45–50% aggregate (relaxation for reserved categories). There is no upper age limit.

Who can apply for an Online MBA?

Any graduate (BA, BSc, BCom, BBA, BCA, BTech, etc.) with at least 50% aggregate marks from a UGC-recognised university. Some universities offer a managerial bonus or specialisation track for candidates with 1–3 years of work experience but it is not mandatory.

I am a defence personnel / government employee. Any benefit?

Yes. Defence personnel, paramilitary, and several state-government employees get dedicated scholarships of 10–25% across our partner universities. Bring your service ID at the time of admission to claim it.

Programme delivery

How are classes delivered?

Through the university's own LMS — typically a mix of recorded video lectures, live weekly webinars by faculty, e-books and journals, downloadable PDFs, recorded doubt-clearing sessions, and timed objective + subjective assessments. Each programme also includes a capstone project.

How do exams work?

Internal assessments are continuous (quizzes, assignments, discussion-board activity). End-semester exams are AI-proctored online from your home — you need a laptop with a working webcam and stable internet. A small number of universities also allow physical exams at designated centres on request.

How long does an MBA / BBA take?

Online MBA: 2 years (4 semesters). Online BBA: 3 years (6 semesters). Universities allow you up to twice the programme duration to complete in case of personal or work emergencies.

EduConnect, our role

Are you a university?

No. EduConnect is a counselling and admissions-support bureau. The degree is conferred by the university, not by us. Our role is to help you choose the right programme, verify recognition status, prepare documents, and resolve issues during the programme.

Do your counsellors earn commission?

No. Every EduConnect counsellor is on a salaried role. There is no per-enrolment incentive, which is the simplest way we can guarantee unbiased advice between universities.

How do I get started?

Click 'Apply now' from the top menu and use the Admissions Desk — you can save the form as a draft, come back later, and submit when you are ready. A counsellor reaches out within one working day. You can also use the Contact page if you only have a general question.

Will my personal data be safe?

Yes. Personal data is stored encrypted at rest in Supabase (AWS Mumbai region). We do not sell data to third-party agents and we apply role-based access internally — only your assigned counsellor and our admissions manager can see your records.
